Paul ‘Tubbs’ Williams passed away on the 10th January 2007. A tribute to “Tubbs” can be found on the LOTW myspace site, which shows rare video footage of the “Great British Bass Man” at his best. This is rare footage and has never before been released by Light of the World. This footage is a mark of respect on behalf of all the fans who saw “Tubbs” back in the day, and who remember what an inspiration he really was.

Having received a personal invitation, Light of the World performed live at the Glenhouse Estate in Edinburgh. Performing to an International Crowd, they together with Gwen Dickie from Rose Royce, celebrated Yuri's Birthday in style.

Jazz Café 18th August 2006

Light of the World's performance at London’s Jazz Café on the 18th August was sold out. The show was given a massive welcome introduction by Chris Hill. The audience was fantastic with their ecstatic cheering and singing along to many of the bands favourite tracks, not to mention new material, which was really well received. Autograph hunters were well catered for by the band, as the sales of their new CD “Addicted To Funk” proved to be a hot seller. LOTW would like to thank the EMI gang for taking part, all their other VIP guests and all the staff at the Jazz Café.

Light of the World
Big Sky Jazz Festival 15th July, Margate

Light of the World received a massive welcome as they appeared on Stage at
the 'Big Sky Jazz Open Air Festival'. Crowds of people, some as young as
five, danced and sang along to the number of tracks; on which turned out to
be one of the hottest days of the year. The organisers were taken a back at
just how well received the band was, and have already invited Light of the
World to appear next year, this time as one of the head line acts.

The Party continued into the evening, when Light of the World performed
their Club Show at the Sugar Lounge & Bars. The vibe was electric with many
fans enjoying the midnight show, and partied with Light of the World into
the early hours.

Light of the World
Live on the Park, 29th June2006


Ligh
t of the World performed at Pizza On The Park, Hyde Park, London on Thursday 29th June. The band line up included Mel Gaynor, Gee Bello, Nat Augustin, Pat Clahar, Frank Felix & Stephane Deriau-Reine. A near fully capacity crowd enjoyed two live 45 min. sets, listening to a combination of new material, inspiring tracks and firm favorites including I’m So Happy, No 1 Girl & London Town. The concert has been recorded live by Nick Blundell (LOTW Sound Engineer). Photographs were taken by Barry AKA ‘Snapper’.

LOTW would like to thank the fans, EMI Records and everyone that attended including special guests Nick Hayward of Hair Cut 100, Greg Kofi-Brown of Osibisa, Gus Isadore (Seal’s Guitarist), Nick Fyffe (Bass Player, Jamiroquai) & Biographer Lloyd Bradley LOTW look forward to seeing everyone again at the Jazz Café on 18th August.

Light of the World Album Launch Party, Caister 1st May 2006
The Light of the World ‘Album Launch Party’ was a great success. Light of the World concluded the four days of Funk and Soul by opening Chris Hills finale. There was an air of excitement amongst the crowds as they waited patiently for the start of the 6.00 pm performance. As LOTW appeared on the stage, fans rushed to the front and the whole house began moving in unison creating the spiritual home of funk. The forty minute set featured ‘Number One Girl’ and the two new tracks ‘Feel The Real’ & ‘Walk Don’t Run’, plus other LOTW classics.Fans rushed to buy the new Album ‘Addicted To Funk’ and enjoyed meeting the band members for the official signing. Light of the World would like to thank all the fans and festival organisers Brian Rix and Master of Mayhem Chris Hill and Dave Suter for all their support.
