Review by British Black Music www.bbm-on.net

Look out for a double CD retrospective compo of hits, essential, rare and side project tracks from one of Britain's best jazz-funk groups, Light Of The World.
'Anthology: Addicted To Funk' (EMI) is an essential buy for any Brit-funk fan, especially as CD2 includes tracks from side projects such as Incognito, The Team, Jaye Williams, Gee Bello, plus Beggaer & Co's 'Somebody Help Me Out' and Spandau Ballet's 'Chant No. 1'!

For 30 years now Light Of The World have led the way for British jazz/funk and soul.

Now, in appropriately innovative fashion, they mark those decades with a 2CD anthology.

Centrepiece on the album are two brand new tracks, "Feel The Real", and "Walk Don't Run", the latter is a collaboration with soul legend Alexander O'Neal.
CD 1 features 12-inch, 7-inch and Remixes while CD 2 entitled features associated projects and rarities.

GEE BELLO
presents
his unreleased Boogie Tracks

Dear BOOGIE LOVERS,

GEE BELLO presents you with this compilation of unreleased tracks from the 1980’s. These
songs typify the BOOGIE sound and are augmented with the beautiful voices of GEE and NAT AUGUSTIN, whose vocals totally enhance the quality of this compilation.

Please also note the great vocal performances by JAYE WILLIAMS and STACY SELSDON for the group MIGHTY 7 - more undiscovered gems from Gee’s archives.

My special thanks go to Phil from Boogie
Times for releasing this album in July and also special thanks to IAN DEWHIRST.

Enjoy this music friends BOOGIE LOVERS and keep checking Boogie Times – there is more to come!

These unreleased songs from the 80’s period are taken from the original old studio master
tapes. With the help of ace studio engineer NICK BLUNDELL, we have restored to the best of
our ability for superior sound and audio quality. Enjoy!

July 1st 2009
Molton House, London

Light of the World celebrated their 30th anniversary not to forget it was Nat’s birthday at the prestigious Mayfair venue, Molton House on Wednesday 1st July. Those who arrived early enjoyed a Funkster Cocktail, and throughout the evening enjoyed two intimate performances which included hit songs London Town, Number 1 Girl, Ride The Love Train, as well as a number of well known 80’s Soul tracks.

The celebrations continued into the early hours of the morning as the After-Show party got into full swing. A very special thanks to our DJ’s Soulmate Roni from insatiable Soul & Eves James. It was also a pleasure to see Andy Abraham (X Factor), Womak & Womak, Greg Edwards Ian Dewhirst, and Phil from Boogie Times, who came all the way from France to join in the celebrations. To all our guests thanks for joining us, and celebrating in style!

A special thanks to Brian Rix and Chris Hill of Caister Weekenders for presenting Light of the World with an award for 30 years outstanding contribution to the development to British Soul Music. Thanks also to the staff at Molton House for their support and making the night so enjoyable.
